How ride2rave works.

A ride comes together in three stages — your request is non-binding, it's locked in once the driver accepts.

1. Send a request

   On the festival page you'll find rides that suit you. Hit “Request”, write the driver a short message — the request is not binding, and the driver now has 7 days to reply. You give your phone number at that point (if it isn't in your profile yet); it's only shared once the driver accepts — and only with them.

2. The driver reacts

   The driver can accept, decline or simply not reply. You get a mail in all three cases:

   • Accepted: you're in — the seat is locked in and you both immediately get each other's phone number and preferred messenger. If it doesn't work out after all, please cancel within 24 hours.
   • Declined: request closed, the seat is gone. Just look for another ride.
   • No reply after 7 days: the request expires automatically, you get a heads-up and can keep looking.
3. Sort the meeting point, hit the road

   14 days before the festival a reminder mail goes to the whole crew, where you settle the meeting point and time. Message each other directly shortly before; the phone is the backup line when it gets tight.

Important: once the driver accepts, we assume you're coming — nothing left to confirm. If it doesn't work out, please withdraw within 24 hours so the seat frees up again.

Privacy is the default. Here's how it goes:

• While the request is open: nobody sees your number — even if you entered it when requesting.
• Only once the driver accepts do we swap phone number and preferred messenger between the two of you — both get the details in the confirmation mail.
• If somebody cancels or withdraws, mails already sent obviously don't disappear, but new crew members don't see the others' numbers.

No need to chase. After 7 days without a reply the request expires automatically — you get a mail and can request another ride right away. In the meantime the driver is free to accept or decline until the deadline hits.

Tip: keep looking in parallel — you can request several different rides at once (one request per ride). As soon as one accepts, withdraw the others.

There are two modes when posting a ride:

• Fixed price: a set amount per person, clear upfront. Quick, predictable, no discussion at the meeting point.
• Split on the day: the actual fuel costs are split between everyone in the car — the more heads, the cheaper per person. The figure in the listing is only a rough guide.

With “split on the day”, the driver should briefly explain in the description how they work it out (e.g. “a full tank is roughly €80, split between everyone”).

For security reasons, magic links are only valid for about an hour and can only be clicked once.

• Link expired? Just request a new one at /login.
• No mail? Check your spam folder; the sender is info@ride2rave.de.
• Still not working? Drop us a line — we'll help directly.

When posting a ride, the driver can switch on “women only”. Then only profiles that have female stored as a self-declaration can send a request — everyone else sees the ride, but not the request button.

Important: this is a self-declaration, not a verification. We rely on mutual trust — please report any misuse directly to info@ride2rave.de.

ride2rave is a private side project by Simon Fakir — no startup, no association, no investors. More about that on About us.

We only store what we need for the booking: your email for login, optionally phone and messenger preference, your profile and your ride/request data. Full details in the privacy policy.

Nothing. No signup fee, no commission per ride, no premium tier — the platform is free for drivers and passengers.

The ride price you see in the listing goes directly between you — usually at the meeting point or on the day. ride2rave has no payment system of its own and takes no cut.
